RUN LIKE HELL SCORCHES THE TURF

Speedy mare RUN LIKE HELL scorched the turf with a dominant front-running victory at Yarra Valley.
Breaking through at just her third start for the stable, the five-year-old mare dictated terms from the front and was never headed as she streaked clear to win by 2.5 lengths under the urgings of Jake Noonan.
The 1000m victory was achieved in a slick time of 57.01 seconds which was just outside a longstanding track record at Yarra Valley.
"It was a very good performance," said Trent.
"It was 0.11 of a second outside a 36-year-old track record and that was under no riding, so she went super.
"She has bounced through the run really well."
Noonan said the performance was full of merit with the big weight of 60.5kg.
"I had to be pretty assertive from the gates but she began well and was on the front foot," said Noonan.
"I just made use of that speed, let her glide along with the weight and she gave a good kick.
"She'll go on with it from here, she's in at the right time of year to work through her grades."
