Starting off with Toby's stable at Warwick Farm briefly before his extended family moved to Queensland for more opportunity, Trent then begun to work for Peter Snowden under the Darley Australia banner and was able to travel with horses to carnivals in Queensland and Victoria and in doing so picking up valuable lessons from the master himself.

A brief stint going to work under John Thompson as an assistant foreperson at Patinack Farm, where he learnt to be more hands on in and around a big team of both horses and staff, constantly honing his skillset in the process.

It was the 2011 Melbourne Spring Carnival where the fuse was lit and ignited Trent's love for Melbourne so much so that a working holiday of 6 months became 15 months.
In that time, he had a good look at all that Victorian Racing had to offer and made a promise to himself to be back in the State he now calls home, to be a trainer.

Easter in 2012 saw Trent take on a new challenge in a homecoming of sorts, to become Assistant Trainer to his father, Toby, and returned to the Gold Coast QLD to grow the family business as Assistant Trainer.

Working alongside the likes of Houtzen, Eptimum, Winter Bride, Sagaronne and co, then taking Houtzen to England for Royal Ascot in 2019. When the England sojourn came to an end, and exciting opportunity to form a training partnership began in 2019.
